The Atlantic Magazine Editorial Spread
For this project I chose to use The Atlantic as the appropriate magazine for "Lovely Grub" – an article that discusses the cultural sensitivities of the consumption of insects as a source of protein, and the environmental impact of our reliance on other forms of protein. The editorial spread needed to follow the specific specs laid out in the publication guide.
The Atlantic utilises very minimal cover designs with either illustration or simple photography thus my design solution was to use a simple bug on an empty plate. The layout is clean with column rules and drop caps adding a pop of colour and interest.
